Crostini with goat cheese, walnuts, honey and fresh thyme

These could not be easier to make.

And that combo of flavors? Bangin’.  Additionally, your party guests will be happy to see something not made of chocolate right about this time of year.

♫ Suggested listening: something with a little honey. ♫

Recipe adapted from Jeanne Kelley, from the Kitchen Garden Cookbook.

  • Baguette (or something with a bit more girth, depending on the occasion)
  • Goat cheese
  • Honey
  • Walnuts. toasted
  • Fresh thyme

At about 375 degrees, toast your baguette slices on a baking sheet.  Bake until slightly browned (between 5 and 10 minutes).  Remove from oven and let cool slightly.  Arrange on a large cutting board or whatever it is you plan to serve them on.  Slather each with goat cheese (this can be time consuming — you may want to have a helper!), then drizzle the whole thing with honey.  Ideally, they’re pretty close together on the cutting board, so not too much honey will fall through the cracks!  Then sprinkle with your toasted walnuts — they’ll stick to the honey and not slide off — and finally, sprinkle with your fresh thyme leaves.

Super easy, and super appreciated by your party guests.

Party on.
